#FollowFriday Fun
#FollowFriday used to be a burden because I only wanted to recommend people I had a real dialogue with.
Considering how many people I follow, searching for those perfect Twitterers took a considerable effort.
The activity turned into a task and I just stopped participating - it felt too much like a job, and I’ve always hated jobs…
After a couple of weeks #FollowFriday exploded and it became clear I was missing out on some serious effective networking.
So I changed my perspective. Instead of pushing the ‘perfect’ Twitterers, I simply recommend every user in my @ and DM list for that week.
I don’t auto-follow so the people I follow are mostly cool and in my fields-of-interest.
And anyway, even if I recommended all 1400+, it wouldn’t cause a blip on the Twitter screen of millions.
That’s what’s cool about SM, it doesn’t have to be perfect, because it can’t be, it’s all too human.
And I don’t want to be taking the the fun out of social media, it’s a detriment to me, and as an influencer I want to set a good example.
