I Like High Fructos Corn Syrup
@HighFrucCornSyrup is one of my favorite Twitter buds. There’s something about not knowing if it’s a guy or a girl that puts me at ease.
Not any old gender-free corporate logo Twitterer would make me feel this way, no, it’s @HighFrucCornSyrup’s honesty about being just a syrup that makes him (for the purpose of this post) endearing.
He’s an engaging little syrup who adds value to my Twitter stream.
Of course it makes sense to believe he is hired by one of the Corn Growers Associations, why else would someone front as a product, but he doesn’t clutter the stream with boring talk about how great corn actually is. It’s woven into his stream, for sure, but discreetly.
Being honest in social media is rule one, even if it’s being honest about being hired by someone for publicity (ex: Hilary Clinton vs Barack Obama), because eventually, and it doesn’t take long, the disingenuous user gets weeded out.
